America Prevails

I am Thankful this morning that the Republic has prevailed and a recovery is coming from the disaster of the last 4 years of a stolen election. We have been brought back from brink of being a banana republic or worse.

When I went to bed last night a little after midnight from watching the returns and doing some of my own projections. I was confident that Donald Trump would be the 47th President of the United States. Although there was a chance that Kamala Harris could win if she took Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Arizona. But it wasn’t in her favor to do so without fraud.

I made a note about the vote returns in those key states as they were when I went to bed. Donald Trump was leading by as many as 7 points in some of those states. I could sleep well knowing that the morning would dawn a new day of hope for our country.

Not only did Donald Trump win the White House, but the Republicans have gained control of the Senate and have kept control of the House as well. On a local level there were some ups and downs. But it looks like Iowa still has a Republican majority.

Thank God for His mercy. We have exercised the rights given to us by the Almighty and enshrined in the 2nd greatest document ever written. The people of the United States have spoken and have, for the most part, struck down Leftism in the many forms it comes in and again we get to keep the Republic a little while longer.

A Harris Victory

If Kamala Harris is elected to serve as our 47th President this evening the Right will want to be certain that the results were honest and without fraud. There will be court cases filed to audit specific districts. This is due to the multiple unaddressed irregularities in the 2020 election.

There will be no large scale or wide spread rioting, looting, or burning of cities. There may be clashes between the Right and Left that could be violent but the majority will be caused by the Left. What few caused by the Right will be the fringe groups.

If the Republican’s keep control of Congress they might not certify the election if there are on-going court battles about the integrity of the election. But if it is found that no fraud has been committed. Then the election will stand.

A Harris Administration on the other hand would crack down on Conservatives, Christians, and others on the Right. Limiting our Freedom’s of speech, assembly, and rights to Worship. She is a clear and present danger to our Republic.

The United States would become a One-Party state. Marshal Law could be declared. The Supreme Court would be packed. It would be the end of the Republic.

A Trump Victory

If Donald J. Trump is elected to serve as our 47th President this evening the Left will lose their minds. Trump Derangement Syndrome will be on full power. And it will be disgraceful.

The Left will riot. They be destructive to property and endanger innocent lives. People will die and rioting, looting, and the burning of our cities will be like the signal fires of Gondor calling for aid. They will be seen across the nation.

If the House isn’t won, come January there will be an Impeachment started in Congress before anything else is done. That will be the Left’s priority. And I’m sure that the Left will say “Russia, Russia, Russia” again. And attempt to make everyone believe that Trump is the next Hitler.

All of this is nonsense of course. It’s the Left showing their true colors. Violence, lies, and death, are all hallmarks of the Left. They manufacture a crisis and then claim to be the solution to it.

It will be a fight when Trump wins. A fight to preserve the Republic or fall to the Leftist ideals of “Democracy”, mob rule, and totalitarianism.

The Electoral College

I’ve written about the Electoral College before in a previous incarnation of this blog. So again I am revisiting this important topic on the eve of our national election.

The United States is a Constitutional Federal Republic. Notice that the word “democracy” is not in our form of government. Our Founding Fathers were brilliant men and knew the dangers of a democracy. This is why they gave us a republic.

The Electoral College is the greatest example of our republic. It ensures that every state in the union has a say on who becomes our president. Without it, the large cities on the coasts would decide by a popular vote. And those of us in the “fly over” country would never have a voice. We lack the numbers to overrule their voices.

Our Founding Fathers were aware of this, even in the 18th century. Thus they created the Electoral College to level the playing field and so every state would have a fair voice.

In the Electoral College system each state gets a 1 vote for each Senator and Representative. Thus Iowa, my home state, currently has 6 votes in the Electoral College.

How these Electors are chosen is up to each state. And what rules they must follow are also up to each state.

Do I think that the Electoral College should be replaced by the popular vote? Absolutely not. For all the reasons already stated and why the Founding Fathers created it in the first place. Do I think there should be changes. Yes there should be some changes.

I do have a couple of reforms that would make the system better than it is today. And be a vote generator for tomorrow. And I think they would help preserve the Republic as well.

At the state level, all the states must follow the lead of Maine and Nebraska and do away with the rule of “winner takes all” method. Thus the number of votes becomes proportional to the win.

This is far more equitable and fair to the candidates. If you get 49% of the popular votes, you should get 49% of the Electoral votes as well. It would also cause the candidates to take every state seriously and improve their campaigns.

The 2nd reform would have to take place at the Federal level. It has been many decades since the last time the House of Representatives was increased due to the increase in population. And now each Representative has far too many constituents to adequately represent them.

Thus, raise the number of Representatives. Lower the maximum number of constituents for each Representative. This also increases the number of Electoral votes available which would in turn increase the number needed to win the Presidency.

Right now, the total of Electoral Votes is 538 and 270 are needed to be President. A simple majority. Hypothetically, if we increase each state my just 1 House member the available Electoral Votes would be 588 and the number needed to win would be 295.

Perhaps, even a 3rd reform would be in order. And it could be taken on it’s own or added to either one of the other 2 reforms. Instead of using a simple majority vote for the Electors, change it to a 2/3rd majority vote.

If this change was made on it’s own. The number of needed Electoral votes would change from 270 to 359 or 360. This would definitely make the candidates and the electorate pay more attention to the campaigns and the issues. And again every state in the union would be important.

Leftist Lexicon Word of the Week

Every election cycle has its share of “I can’t believe that shit happened” moments, and Election 2024 is no exception. Seeing a major party candidate working at a McDonalds drive-thru and then riding around in a garbage truck just to mock Queen Kamala the Appointed and her sycophants? That’s what passes for normal these days.

But what isn’t so normal, at least to Leftists, is Queen Kamala not getting endorsements from major newspapers like the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and USA Today. As you might expect, the Left didn’t take this very well. I mean, this is the most important Presidential election in world history (you know, since the last one), and Queen Kamala the Appointed needs every possible endorsement she can get because ORANGE MAN BAD! Who cares about maintaining a veneer of neutrality and not pissing off potential customers to the right of Vladimir Lenin? This is much more important because if Donald Trump gets reelected, he’s going to destroy the mainstream media and put political enemies in concentration camps!

Do you Leftists want me to vote for Trump? Because this is how you get me to vote for Trump!

Seriously, though, this got me to thinking (a scary thought in and of itself) about endorsements in the social media age and why Leftists think it’s important to get them. The answer, my friends, is blowing in the wind…or might be in this edition of the Leftist Lexicon. You know, whichever.

What the Left thinks it means – vital messages from important sources designed to inspire you to vote for a candidate

What it really means – not-that-important messages from sources of varying degrees of presumed importance designed to make you believe bullshit

There was a time in our history when you could reasonably depend on newspapers, magazines, and TV news to give you the straight scoop on what was going on around the world and in your backyards. How they got access to my backyard I’m not sure, but the point is their words meant something. So, when a newspaper’s editorial board sat down and decided to support a candidate, it was meaningful.

That was before Leftists found their ways into journalism and into those editorial meetings. Recent history shows there has been a shift in who gets the nod in newspaper endorsements and, although Republicans over the past 50 years have dominated the endorsement game, Democrats have been reaching parity (as opposed to them reaching parody, which they do quite unintentionally). And, to be honest, as newspapers have wandered more Leftward, the endorsements have gotten as predictable as a Michael Bay movie with much fewer explosions.

Now, as media outlets are less popular than used car salesmen with an infectious disease, the time of the political endorsement meaning something may have passed. Not only are traditional media considered to be dinosaurs, but the advent of social media has pretty much made their roles in society obsolete. Why wait until 5 or 6 PM to hear your local talking heads tell you about a news story when you can jump onto the Interwebs and see how your favorite YouTuber thinks? And what better way to get the pulse of the nation than to log on to TikTok, Instagram, and the Social Media Platform Formerly Known as Twitter?

So, why did the Left lose their collectivist shit over the lack of an endorsement from three major newspapers? Control, my dear readers. One of the ways the Left controls the narrative in many cases is because they control the dissemination of it. Donald Trump could come out and say, “I love cats,” and the mainstream press would run “Trump Hates Dogs” stories until the cows come home. Or “The View” wraps up shooting for the day.

I’m sorry. That was mean. I apologize to all the cows offended by being compared to the shrieking harpies on “The View.”

Anyway, when Leftists saw Jeff Bezos making a smart business decision at a newspaper that lost $77 million in 2023 by not pissing off potential readers, they saw it as a betrayal. Oh, sure, they couch it by lamenting the lack of journalistic courage, but it was much more personal. Bezos, a loyal member of the Leftist hivemind, didn’t carry water for Queen Kamala the Appointed by approving a puff piece telling us all how Her Majesty would be better than Trump because…ORANGE MAN BAD!

Without the word of the Washington Post to bolster Queen Kamala the Appointed’s Presidential clusterfuck…I mean campaign, it hurts her chances of becoming President, even though high profile publications have already done so. After all, the Left has to speak in one voice, mainly because they share the same weakened brain cell. Anyone wh0 doesn’t echo that sentiment down to the decibel is automatically considered to be an enemy.

So, Mr. Bezos, welcome to the club.

Where the control element comes into play is the implication of so many high profile publications backing Queen Kamala’s candidacy. If well-known newspapers back one candidate over another, there’s a level of credibility that comes with that endorsement. Think of it like a celebrity endorsement of a product, only for news nerds like your humble correspondent.

Ah, but that credibility comes with a catch in the form of a logical fallacy called ad populum. Simply put, an ad populum argument is when a conclusion is presumed to be true because many people believe it to be true. To put it in this particular context, getting a number of newspapers to agree Queen Kamala the Appointed is the best Presidential candidate out there would be enough to convince potential voters to vote for her because everybody else is doing it.

Anyone who remembers trying to use that line on parents who weren’t trying to be their kids’ friends knows how well that worked. And for the record, Mom, I didn’t jump off the railroad bridge because Mikey Schooner did it. That was my dumbass idea!

And it’s the Left’s dumbass idea to overreact to the lack of Presidential endorsements by quitting their jobs and canceling their subscriptions. In the case of the Washington Post, it’s a way for them to get rid of shitty employees and save money in the process. Fucking brilliant!

More to the point, the time of a newspaper endorsing a candidate and having it mean anything has passed. I’m a news nerd and even I can’t give a shit about what newspaper endorses what candidate because I have my own shit to worry about. I have a family to take care of, a roof to keep over our heads, bills that need to be paid, groceries that need to be bought, gas that needs to be bought so my wife and I can continue to go to work to afford the shit people like Queen Kamala the Appointed made more expensive because they know fuck-all about economics.

And if you think I’m going to say, “You know, I need four more years of this economic shitshow” because some newspaper says Queen Kamala is great, you’re dumber than a Leftist, and that’s a pretty big accomplishment.





Election Integrity

With the official election just around the corner thoughts and concerns about the integrity of our elections abound. There have already been reported instances of fraud in the ongoing early voting period. How many of these instances are there and how many have yet to be discovered.

From non-citizens voting and other ineligible persons to down right fraudulent ballots being accepted and tabulated without verification. These issues should concern everyone no matter what political party they may or may not be affiliated with on the voter rolls.

We can have election integrity again. But first the 2024 election must be without any of the irregularities that plagued the 2020 election. To gain election integrity the following must be done:

  • Voter ID must be in all 50 states and all US territories.
  • No ballot should be tabulated prior to election day.
  • All early and absentee ballots must be authenticated.
  • All ballots must be tabulated within 24 hours of the polls closing. We have the technology to do this. It shouldn’t take weeks.
  • All mail-in ballots must be postmarked and they must be received by election day before the polls close. No exceptions to this rule.
  • All vote tabulating machine software code must be open sourced and reviewable on demand at anytime.
  • In the absence of any block-chain voting software, any tabulating machine must not be connected to the internet while the polls are open and the votes are being tabulated.
  • All ballots counted must be observed by independent observers.

And lastly to further insure election integrity the voter rolls themselves must be regularly scrubbed to insure only legitimate voters are registered.
